What is a fireplace BEV Technology?
BEV Technology (Burning Ethanol Vapours) is an advanced, patented ethanol vapour combustion system developed by Planika’s international engineering team for modern fireplaces.
Fireplaces using BEV technology provide real flame without the need for a chimney, air supply, or exhaust venting, offering complete freedom in design and placement. They produce no smoke, soot, or ash and can be installed almost anywhere, including media walls under TVs or as room dividers in glazed or unglazed configurations. Planika has also introduced the world’s first outdoor fireplaces using BEV technology.
Thanks to a complete and efficient combustion process, BEV fireplaces do not emit harmful substances, making them suitable for passive houses, ecological developments, and cities with strict environmental regulations. For years, Planika has continued to push fire design projects to the next level.

BEV® TECHNOLOGY – HOW DOES IT WORK?
BEV Automatic fireplaces with fully controlled burning process
The entire combustion process is automated and controlled by a microprocessor. The cool fuel is contained in a hermetically sealed tank. When switched on, the device draws only a small, necessary portion of fuel from this tank and transports it to the vapour generator. There, a small amount of biofuel is heated until it reaches a temperature where it turns into vapour, which is distributed throughout the burner and then burned. The fire has no direct contact with the liquid fuel. Thanks to the insulated fuel tank, cooling fans, and combustion chamber, the ethanol fuel temperature is always low and safe. A microprocessor communicates with a number of sensors inside the fireplace and controls its entire operation. The fireplace informs you of any activity with an audible signal and a message on the mobile app. Convenient remote control of the fireplace eliminates any risk of human error.
MULTIPLE SAFETY SENSORS AND ALERTS
We developed our fireplaces based on a technology and structure that provides the highest level of safety for its users. This meant considering every possibility of a human error that could occur during the heating or refilling process.
To ensure our fireplaces are safe to use in all conditions, we have equipped them with multiple safety sensors. This way, any possible malfunctions can be effectively identified. In case an error is detected, the sensors send a signal to the microprocessor to turn off the device. The user is additionally warned with a sound signal and an information sent out to their mobile app.
